Principal Hampton
Nate Hampton is a native of Chicago, Illinois. After graduating from Bemidji State University, he earned his Masters of Education and principal license from Saint Mary’s University.
Mr. Hampton joins Harrison with a wide breadth and depth of experience in the field of education, including special education. One of his first jobs was as a Special Transitional Case manager in Bemidji, where he helped transition students from federal Level IV settings, similar to Harrison, back to classroom settings. More recently, Mr. Hampton worked in Robbinsdale Area Schools directing an African American Boys program. The program is designed to dramatically improve academics and ultimately the life outcomes for the students in the district. The program looked at analyzing the patterns of behavior and processes that would produce systemic changes in a student’s decision-making process.
Mr. Hampton also worked in the St. Cloud School District as a High School Assistant Principal, where he led the special education department and developed programs that focused on student achievement. Prior to joining St. Cloud, he was a building Administrator for ten years in the Osseo School District working with the building student services teams.
Mr. Hampton believes building strong relationships, promoting student and family involvement and ensuring staff support are key for students' success. He looks for all students to become lifelong learners.
